When I get asked about my writing, I always tell people to stop and think before they answer. You don’t have to know the answer to a lot of these questions, but understanding why you ask questions and how you answer them gives you the opportunity to make better life decisions.
One of the best things I learned in my career was the importance of asking questions and clarifying things. Not doing so wastes your time and doesn’t help you to answer the question in a way that makes sense. You also have to make sure that you aren’t just guessing your way through things. If you can’t tell why you’re asking a question, then you can’t give an answer.
Asking questions and reading answers and thinking about why you are asking them can help you to take the right (or wrong) answer away from your head and put it in the hands of others. People who understand the difference between thinking and knowing are better equipped to answer the question in the first place. I like to say that if you ask a question and you dont understand the answer, you are probably not thinking about it.
What I like to call the “deeper question” is the question that is not asked. It is the one that makes you question what you are doing. But that one is the true question and it is the one that is not usually asked. The deeper question is the one that is always being asked, the question that keeps you awake at night and the one that keeps you questioning what you are doing.
It’s not as though I didn’t know that. I mean, I just got out of college. So I can probably answer the questions I didn’t even need to ask. But I could also tell you the answer to the questions I did need to ask.
It’s not easy to ask the questions that keep you awake at night. It’s not easy to look at the answers and know what you have to do next. It’s not easy to take a step back and see what you are doing. It’s not even easy to ask the questions that keep you questioning.
It is easy to ask the questions that keep you awake at night.
I guess that’s why I’m here. And I am here because I’ve never really been able to say that I understand the answer to a question that I have to ask. Maybe it’s because I don’t have the answers to some of the questions, or maybe it’s because I just can’t get the questions out of my head.
A bit of both. It’s easy to say it because it just makes sense, but most of the time you just don’t have the answers. But even when you do have answers, they are hard to articulate. When you have answers, you have to put them out there, but they are hard to describe.
When asked to define “the human condition”, hasan uses the word “happiness” as part of his answer. He then adds, “I would be happy if I were able to see my children grow up happy and healthy.” You can’t really ask anyone to define the human condition. Its not something we can define for ourselves. Its something that we have to accept and live with. We have to accept that our lives are limited to what we are able to do with our own bodies.
